Trouble in Arcadia

Everything happened in the city of Arcadia. It was divided into two parts, the ultra-wealthy and the poor section. The millionaire section was magnificent and the poor section was ugly and grotesque. Jack and Steve lived in the poor section. Jack was a 12-year-old boy. He was very brave and loved adventures. For this, he was always in some sort of trouble. He was tall, he had brown hair and green eyes. Jack was afraid of the darkness because he lived on a street without light. Steve was Jack´s brother and he was a 14-year- old boy. Steve had brown hair and eyes and he was short. Steve was highly intelligent, but because he lived on the street and was only in the company of Jack, he had a bad reputation so he was afraid of talking to other people. Charlotte’s Orphanage was searching for them, but Jack and Steve hid themselves very well. Finally, one day they found the kids and took them to the orphanage.

On the millionaire side of the city a man called John had an evil plan. John was a 40 old year man that only thought of himself and hated children, but in reality, he was secretly afraid of them because when he was a kid, some children who lived in the poor area had bullied him. He made his money being an IT genius. John’s plan was to go to Charlottes Orphanage, give computers to the children and control their minds with a special chip that would go inside the computer. In John´s house, he had a special helmet that would control the children´s mind.

The next day he went to the Orphanage where Charlotte, the owner, received him kindly. Charlotte was a 50-year-old woman who had white hair, gray eyes and she was medium height. She would do anything for any child. John told her that he would give the children computers to study and play. She gave the computers to the kids and they started using them. Steve told Jack about the computers and they went to take one but when they arrived, there were no computers left. The next morning Jack and Steve were trying to get a computer but when they asked to use another’s child computer the boy reacted as if he woke up from a trance.

Steve asked him what happened, and he replied ´´I do not remember anything´ so they began to suspect that something was wrong. When they turned on the computer again, the kid returned into a trance. They thought that John was involved in something strange, so they decided to go to John´s house but Steve was nervous. That night, Jack and Steve escaped from the orphanage and they went to the wall that divided the two sections of the city. They climbed it and they appeared in a beautiful place with large green parks. They looked at the map of the city and they found John´s house. They entered and heard John. They went to the second floor of the house and they heard John say:

´´With this helmet I can control the kids and I will rule the world. My plan is working well. Those foolish kids do not know that the computers have a special chip that will control their minds with this helmet´´.

Jack and Steve tried to attack John, but he ran away from them. With the helmet, he called the kids to fight with Jack and Steve because he was afraid of them. How had these children escaped from the control? The kids from the orphanage arrived and tried to catch them, but Steve and Jack escaped and ran back to the orphanage. In the orphanage they destroyed the chips and the kids returned to normal again.

They went back to John´s house and asked him why he did that, and he responded that he disliked children and after dominating the world, he would have destroyed them.

Steve asked him why he hated children and he said that when he was a kid no one cared for him. Steve said that happened to him too because children thought that he was strange. Everyone wondered why he was so serious and mature. At times, Steve wanted to hate the people who criticized him but he refused to let the hate control him.

Finally, John admitted that he was sorry and wrong. To compensate the children, he spent all his money on the poor side and now Arcadia city is not divided in two sections anymore. John learned to be with kids and to help other people. Jack and Steve helped John to see the truth, so now they help other people expressing their feelings and Charlotte learned to research things deeper before accepting something as a present.
